What a Tilt Trailer Does Differently
The tilt deck is what sets these trailers apart from conventional trailer configurations. The bed tilts toward ground level, allowing you to drive or winch a vehicle or appropriate equipment onto the deck without using separate loading ramps.
This can be especially useful when loading something with low ground clearance or a heavy load that is difficult to move up a traditional ramp. Both KD tilt trailers include a winch, straps, axle straps, tire straps, and J hooks for securing the load.
Rentals have flat daily rates with no mileage fees. Pick up your trailer at KD's Troy location at 407 E US Highway 40 and return it when your rental period is complete. The same tilt decks also work well as a toy hauler for ATVs and motorcycles when you need drive-on loading for powersports gear.
Choosing the Right Tilt Trailer
The right tilt trailer depends on the weight of your load, the amount of deck space you need, and the capabilities of your towing vehicle.
The 22ft Car Hauler / Equipment Tilt Trailer has a 7,500 lb capacity.
The 24ft Car Hauler / Equipment Tilt Trailer has an 11,000 lb capacity.
Both use a tilt deck for drive-on loading and include 4 straps, 4 axle straps, 4 tire straps, a set of J hooks, and a winch. If you need a conventional equipment trailer rather than a tilt deck, see our equipment trailer rental options. If you're hauling a powersports machine and want more detail on loading and securing it, our ATV and motorcycle hauling guide walks through what to check.
Towing Requirements
Both tilt trailers require a 2 5/16 inch ball hitch, a 7-pin plug, and a functioning brake controller in your towing vehicle. Before you book, verify that your vehicle is properly equipped and rated to handle the loaded weight of the trailer plus your load.
Not sure whether your truck is set up to tow? Our towing requirements guide walks you through tow ratings, hitch sizes, plug types, and brake controllers so there are no surprises at pickup.
