Car Hauler Rental in Troy, IL

Why Rent a Car Hauler From KD?

A car hauler is built for one job: getting a vehicle from one place to another safely. Whether you bought a car out of town, rescued a non-runner, or need to move a project truck across the Metro East, the right trailer makes loading and securing the vehicle a one-person job instead of a fight with ramps and tie-down straps.

Two of our car haulers use a tilt deck that lowers toward ground level for drive-on loading. This can make loading easier when a vehicle's ground clearance makes traditional ramps more difficult to use. The tilt car haulers also include straps, axle straps, tire straps, J hooks, and a winch for securing the vehicle. If you specifically want that tilt deck design, see our dedicated tilt trailer rental page.

Rentals are flat daily rates with no mileage fees. You pay for the days you have the trailer, not how far you drive it. Pick it up at our lot at 407 E US Highway 40 in Troy and bring it back when the job is done. For a broader look at what to check before you rent, our local car trailer rental guide covers capacity, hitch setup, and what to inspect at pickup.

Choosing the Right Car Hauler

The right car trailer depends on the weight of the vehicle you're transporting, the amount of deck space you need, and your towing vehicle's capabilities. For a fuller breakdown, read our car hauler sizing guide.

Our 22ft Car Hauler Trailer has a 7,000 lb capacity when towed by a 1/2-ton vehicle and a 13,000 lb capacity for a 3/4-ton vehicle or larger.

Our 24ft Car Hauler Trailer has a 17,000 lb capacity.

If you prefer the easier loading of a tilt deck, our 22ft Car Hauler / Equipment Tilt Trailer has a 7,500 lb capacity, while the 24ft Car Hauler / Equipment Tilt Trailer has an 11,000 lb capacity.

If you need your vehicle to be safe from inclement weather, check out our 22ft enclosed trailer. If you're comparing car trailer sizes, measure the vehicle you're hauling and check its loaded weight before choosing between the 22ft and 24ft options.

Towing Requirements

All four car haulers require a 2 5/16 inch ball hitch, a 7-pin plug, and a functioning brake controller in your towing vehicle. Before you book, verify that your towing vehicle is properly equipped and rated to handle the loaded weight of the trailer plus the vehicle you are hauling.

Not sure whether your truck is set up to tow? Our towing requirements guide walks you through tow ratings, hitch sizes, plug types, and brake controllers so there are no surprises at pickup.
